The 968 Base is equipped with a Porsche 3.0 liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The engine is mated to a ZF 4-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Porsche.
In 1992 Porsche released the 968 Base to the car-buying market. The 968 came in one configurations: Base. The Base configuration is powered by the 3.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 25 - 26 highway miles and 16 - 17 city. The 968 competes in the Coupe market segment, in direct competition with Acura.
There have been several award-winning cars from Porsche over the years, including the Porsche 968 of 1995. There are one trim levels to the 968, including Base. The Base version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 1994 the popular 3.0 liter has made this a popular choice for coupe buyers nationwide.
