The 3.0si configuration is powered by the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 23 - 24 highway miles and 16 - 17 city. The X3 competes in the Sport Utility market segment, in direct competition with Kia.

BMW X3

A high point in the sport utility market is the BMW X3. In 2006 BMW rolled out an upgraded version of the X3 with one versions: 3.0i and 2.5i. Sales for the X3, especially the X3 3.0i, were brisk during 2006 and 2007. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.

The four-door truck with its all-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for BMW. There is strong competition from vehicles from Kia.
