Several things can be said about the BMW M5 series: including the polarizing reactions most buyers have towards their car. The ten-cylinder engine is at the heart of the strong emotions, it is powerful for its class and delivers a large amount of torque.
The 2009 M5 is an important vehicle to BMW for the sedan market segment. The Base is a member of a series of one trim levels for the M5 which include Base. The restyled M5 Base is equipped with a 5.0-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a Getrag five-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2001 version.
