A high point in the convertible market is the BMW Z3. In 1999 BMW rolled out an upgraded version of the Z3 with four versions: Coupe, M Coupe, and M Roadster. BMW introduced the M3 Base in late 1998 to regain its grip on the Convertible market. There are 1 trim levels for the M3 in 1999: . With two doors and spacious seating for five, the rear-wheel drive M3 makes a statement. There is plenty of competition in the Convertible market, including strong offerings from Infiniti.
The 911 Carrera 4 is equipped with a Porsche 3.4 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a Getrag 6-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Porsche.
