There have been several award-winning cars from Porsche over the years, including the Porsche Boxster of 2008. There are five trim levels to the Boxster, including S, Base, S Limited Edition, and RS 60 Spyder. The Limited Edition version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2007 the popular 2.7 liter has made this a popular choice for convertible buyers nationwide.

2008 Porsche Boxster Limited Edition Specs

The restyled Boxster Limited Edition is equipped with a 2.7-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a N/A five-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2007 version.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Boxster uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The fuel system for the 2008 Boxster is a traditional Bosch ME-7.8, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 16.90 gallons.

The Boxster is 171.60 inches long, 70.90 inches wide, and 50.90 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 95.10 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the Boxster is 48 months, or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the convertible market.

The listed retail price in 2008 (MSRP) was $45,800, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-high price. This price is in line with the industry average price for a two-door Convertible.

The 2008 Boxster gets 26 - 29 miles/gallon on the highway and only 19 - 20 in the city. This is below average for a convertible car.
