In 1997 Porsche released the 911 Turbo to the car-buying market. The 911 came in five configurations: Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa, and Turbo. The Turbo configuration is powered by the 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 23 highway miles and 16 city. The 911 competes in the Coupe market segment, in direct competition with Kia.

One of the staples of the Coupe segment is the Porsche 911. In the previous model year debuted a brand new version of the 911 with ten versions: Carrera 4, Turbo, GT2, GT3 RS, Carrera 4S, Carrera S, Targa 4, and Targa 4S. Sales for the 911, especially the 911 Carrera 4S, were brisk during 2008 and 2009. The improved vehicle quality and the modern styling were responsible for the boost in sales.
