Not Your Father’s 911 – The 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 4

Porsche has been blessed with many award-winning designs, including the Porsche 911 of 1995. There are two trim levels to the 911, including Carrera and Carrera 4. The Carrera 4 version is one of the more popular options. Like in 1994 the popular 3.6 liter has made this a popular choice for coupe buyers across the country.

Porsche 911 Engine Specs

The 911 Carrera 4 is equipped with a Porsche 3.6 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 12 valves. The engine is mated to a Getrag 6-speed Transaxle. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Coupe arena.

The fuel system for the 1995 911 is a Bosch Motronic design, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is regulated by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The storage capacity of the fuel tank is 19.40 gallons.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The 911 has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

Vehicle Statistics

The 911 is 167.70 inches long, 68.30 inches wide, and 51.80 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 89.40 inches. It is able to seat 4 comfortably.

The listed retail price in 1995 (MSRP) was $67,200, with an invoice cost of an industry-high price. This price is above average of the industry average price for a two-door Coupe.

The standard warranty period for the 911 is 60* months, or 50,000* miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also includes a warranty on the drivetrain for 36* months or 50,000* miles respectively. This is standard in the coupe market. Extended warranties are also available through the dealer.

Fuel Efficiency

The 911 Carrera 4 received a miles-per-gallon rating of sixteen in-city driving and twenty three when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was exceptional.

We Think...

There are several reasons why the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 sold well in 1995. Mainly the increase in availability and a marked improvement in quality meant the buying public was more apt to choose a Porsche, specifically a 911.
