The restyled S4 Cabriolet is equipped with a 4.2-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 40 valves. The engine is mated to a Volkswagen six-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2007 version.
Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The S4 comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The dimensions of the S4 Cabriolet are 77.40 inches wide by 168.70 inches long. It sits 56.00 inches off the ground. It seats a standard five passengers, with 2 doors. The wheelbase of 101.50 allows for extra leg room for the rear passengers.
