Our Review of the 2002 BMW M5 Base

The restyled M5 Base is equipped with a 5.0-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a Getrag five-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2001 version.
Steering control is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The M5 comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

Good article. At first I felt like I needed to refute your review of the BMW M5, but after further reflection I can see your point of view. Perhaps my personal M5 Base is an abberation. What is everyone else’s experiences?
