Insight Into the Porsche 911 for 2006

Porsche 911

One of the staples of the Coupe segment is the Porsche 911. In the previous model year debuted a brand new version of the 911 with four versions: Carrera 4S and Carrera S. Sales for the 911, especially the 911 Carrera 4S, were brisk during 2006 and 2007. The improved vehicle quality and the modern styling were responsible for the boost in sales.

Performance

The 911 Carrera 4S is equipped with a Porsche 3.8 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a N/A 5-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Porsche.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The 911 has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The fuel system for the 2006 911 is a traditional Bosch ME-7.8, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 16.90 gallons.

The 911 is 171.60 inches long, 70.90 inches wide, and 51.00 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 95.10 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.

The listed retail price in 2006 (MSRP) was $45,000, with an invoice cost of $39,222. This price is slightly higher than the industry average price for a two-door Coupe.
