A lot has been said about the Audi TT Quattro for 2000. As Audi's entry in the coupe market the TT Quattro (and in this case specically the Base version) has maintained a solid reputation. The 2-door TT Quattro is especially appealing to wide market segment, making it a perfect car to help Audi as a brand in general.

Performance

Audi TT Quattro Engine Specs: The TT Quattro Base comes outfitted with a 1.8 liter, 4-cylinder motor that uses 20 valves. The engine, manufactured by Volkswagen, is teamed up with a Volkswagen 5-speed transaxle. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Audi.

The TT Quattro uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The fuel system for the 2000 TT Quattro is a Bosch ME-7.5 design, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is regulated by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The storage capacity of the fuel tank is 16.30 gallons.

The standard warranty period for the TT Quattro is 48 months, or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. There is also a warranty on the powertrain for 48 months or 50,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the coupe market.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was an industry-average price when new, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-average price. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.

MPG Ratings

The 2000 TT Quattro gets 23 miles/gallon on the highway and only 17 in the city. This is below average for a coupe car.

In 1999 and 2000 the TT Quattro Base was availble in the exterior colors of Amulet Red, Aviator Gray Pearl Effect, Brillant Black with Clearcoat, Denim Blue Pearl Effect, Desert Green Pearl Effect, Lake Silver Metallic, and Raven Black Pearl Effect.

The 1999 model began the promise of the Audi TT Quattro. The 2000 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Audi hopes that the TT Quattro Base will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
