One of the staples of the Coupe segment is the Porsche 911. In the previous model year debuted a brand new version of the 911 with nine versions: Turbo, Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Carrera S, Targa 4, Targa 4S, GT3, and GT3 RS. Sales for the 911, especially the 911 Carrera S, were brisk during 2007 and 2008. The improved vehicle quality and the classic styling were responsible for the boost in sales.

Porsche 911 Engine Specs

The restyled 911 Carrera S is equipped with a Porsche 3.8-liter 6-cylinder engine that utilizes a total of 24 valves. The engine is paired with a N/A 6-speed transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Porsche.

The 911 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

911 Carrera S Statistics

The 911 is 175.20 inches long, 72.90 inches wide, and 51.20 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 92.50 inches. It is able to seat 4 comfortably.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $122,900 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $107,424. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.

Fuel Efficiency

Fuel is handled for the 911 is a Bosch ME-7.8 design, running on gasoline fuel. The gasoline is managed by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 17.70 gallons.

The 2007 911 gets 25 miles/gallon on the highway and only 17 - 18 in the city. This is exceptional for a coupe car.

The 2006 model began the promise of the Porsche 911. The 2007 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Porsche hopes that the 911 Carrera S will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
