There's been a lot of talk about the Porsche 911 for 1993. As a leading car in the targa market the 911 (and in this case specically the Carrera 4 version) has maintained a high standard. The 2-door 911 is especially appealing to broad audience, making it a perfect car to help Porsche as a brand in general.
The 911 Carrera 2 is equipped with a Porsche 3.6 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 12 valves. The engine is mated to a ZF 4-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Porsche.
The restyled M3 Base is equipped with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The engine is mated to a Getrag five-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 1990 version.
The 1997 911 is an important vehicle to Porsche for the coupe market segment. The Turbo is a member of a series of five trim levels for the 911 which include Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa, and Turbo. The two-door car with its all-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Porsche. There is strong competition from vehicles from Kia.
