The restyled 911 Carrera 4 is equipped with a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a Getrag six-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2000 version.
The Alpina B7 Base is equipped with a BMW 4.4 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The Alpina engine is mated to a ZF 6-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for BMW.
